We celebrate today Independence Day – the 4th of July, a day of freedom and remembrance of what this country is and what it stands for. I want to say it loud and clear: I am proud to be an American and to live in America.
Yes, I know about the shortcomings of our system, but people, we are not in Heaven, we still live on Earth.
No matter how you look at it, America is still one of the greatest places in our world. It is a place of amazing beauty where you can find all the possible natural landscapes in all their splendor. It is a place where people’s hearts resonate deeply and compassionately with other human hearts in need.
I love America and I am forever grateful for being welcomed by her as only a loving mother welcomes her child. I give my thanks to the forefathers and to all those before us who fought for the spirit of freedom that America stands for in the world.
